Russell Hobbs iron range
may, in isolated cases, fail prematurely. In light of this, Russell
Hobbs has made the decision to recall the models in question.
The models you have taken, which are affected are:-
15081, 18651, 19220, 19221,
20280
which were produced within date codes: 04512 to 19513
All supplied before November 2013
Whilst the iron flex supplied on the affected irons is fully compliant
with VDE
0828-14 which is the relevant European Safety Standard we started in
early 2013 to detect an occasional report of premature flex failure.
We changed the flex on all affected irons and have had no reported
incidents with premature flex failures since.
All other date coded stock of the above models are unaffected.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Also Russell Hobbs Irons,
model numbers listed below manufactured between October 2012 and
June 2013 carry a risk that the flex may fail, potentially resulting in
injury.
Only the following model numbers are affected.
18651, 18742, 19220, 19221,
18743, 19840, 18720, 15081, 19222, 19400, 20260,
18741, 20280, 20550-10, 20560-10
This model number can be found on the underside of the heel of the iron,
where
you will find a rectangular shaped label which contains a five digit
code.
If you have one of the Iron models listed above, you will also need to
check the second five digit code.
If your secondary code starts with 045 through to 365 and ends with 12
or starts with 001 through to 195 and ends with 13, then you have an
affected Iron. Any numbers outside this range are not affected.
If you do have an affected iron, please stop using it immediately.
